My best friend is getting married in March. They are going out of state for the ceremony and it will be just be the 2 of them. I would like to throw them a reception when they get home. How do I plan a reception for my best friends’ wedding?

If a couple gets married far away and then has a celebration back at home later, are the activities pretty much the same as a traditional wedding reception? First dance, champagne toast, cutting the cake, father/daughter dance, bouquet & garter toss, and so on? What are normal activities for a formal destination wedding celebration?

I am in Durham, North Carolina, and I am assisting in planning a wedding. The bride has selected a ceremony site AND a caterer, but no reception venue. She can’t use the reception at the church because they won’t allow dancing. Any idea how to locate a reception site where you can outsource the catering?
Durhamites, if you know any where specific I would appreciate that, too!!

I am having my wedding reception on June 13,2009. My Fiance and I are planning a private ceremony with only immediate family prior to this date. Because I will be already married before this date would I still do the normal wedding reception timeline for example be introduced as the Mr. & Mrs, first dance, dance with father, cake cutting , toasting, and etc….

Ok so we are planning on having our reception at the Hotel Kabuki! it was recently renovated to be very modern and even has gone green. we love the venue but did not plan on a japanese decor, and really would love to accent our wedding with the japanese theme.our food and beverages already have subtle touches we want to see it in our centerpieces, and favors , tradition, and attire. our colors are platinum ,aubergine and lavender .
